This is a pet project that the directors of HBR started because we passionately believe in and care for the place where we live, work and enjoy much of our free time.
Challenge
HBR had worked on an extremely successful town website for Faversham which we looked after for many years and for a long time hoped that there would be something similar for Sittingbourne. When it didn’t happen, we decided to do it ourselves. We had to start from scratch and initially faced stiff competition in the early years as other competitors saw what we were doing.
Solution
We commenced the project in late 2012, officially launching around 6 months later in 2013 with a fairly comprehensive business directory, things to do section, events, blog and community section where you could find details of education and health services etc. These days we are an established alternative news outlet and leader in local events promotion along with our unique video coverage of major events documenting our history in real time.
